ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis pushed again towards claims on Monday that the state banned Anne Frank’s well-known World Conflict II-era diary, noting it is really on the state’s advisable studying record.
DeSantis responded to a Democratic California state lawmaker who claimed that “The Diary of Anne Frank” was banned within the state.

DeSantis was responding to California Democratic state senator, Scott Wiener, who posted an article revealed by The Guardian that said that the Sunshine State “had the very best fee of e book bans nationwide” in 2025. The outlet claimed the “Diary of Anne Frank” was pulled from faculty’s library cabinets.Â

Hillsborough County Faculty District was reportedly threatened with authorized motion by the Florida State Board of Training in Could if Hillsborough officers didn’t take away “pornographic” titles from their library, leading to greater than 600 books being pulled.
