Ambulance affected person dies after crash involving tractor-trailer in Plant Metropolis: FHP

A affected person being transported in an ambulance was killed after a crash involving a tractor-trailer on SR-39 in Plant Metropolis Friday evening, in accordance with the Florida Freeway Patrol.

The Hillsborough County Fireplace Rescue ambulance was in non-emergency mode when investigators say the motive force, a 26-year-old hearth rescue man, didn’t yield on the intersection of SR-39 and McGee Rd.

The ambulance was struck by a Peterbilt tractor-trailer, pushed by a 52-year-old Wesley Chapel man.

After the crash, the ambulance flipped on its aspect and the tractor-trailer jackknifed.

FHP says the 64-year-old girl sufferer from Plant Metropolis was transported to an area hospital the place she later died.

The ambulance driver and a 47-year-old crewmember had been taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening accidents.
